Permissions Required

USB Host Permission

The App requires USB Host permission to communicate with compatible USB-Ethernet adapters. This permission is used exclusively for:

Reading USB device descriptors (Vendor ID, Product ID)
Reading and writing EEPROM data on compatible ASIX chipset adapters
Detecting connected USB devices for compatibility verification

Network Permission

The App requires network access for:

Establishing Telnet connections to MIB2 units on your local network only
Network scanning to discover MIB2 devices on your LAN

Note: The App does NOT connect to the internet or external servers. All network communication is strictly local (within your WiFi network).

Third-Party Services

MIB2 Controller does NOT integrate with any third-party services:

❌ No advertising networks or ad SDKs
❌ No social media integrations

Data Security

All data remains exclusively on your device. We implement appropriate technical measures within the App:

Encrypted storage for sensitive EEPROM backup data
MD5 and SHA256 checksum verification for backup integrity
No network transmission of any user data
Secure local storage using Android's recommended practices

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Retention: Data persists until you manually delete it or uninstall the App
Deletion: You can delete all data at any time by:
1. Using the "Clear Data" option in App Settings
2. Clearing app data through Android Settings
3. Uninstalling the App from your device

Children's Privacy

MIB2 Controller is a technical tool designed for adult users who own compatible vehicles and hardware. The App:

Is not directed at children under 13 years of age
Does not knowingly collect any personal information from children
Does not contain content inappropriate for any age group
